The term “injectables” refers to two main types of products. There are two main types of injectables used, including neuromodulators (commonly known as BotoxⓇ) and dermal fillers (commonly known as JUVÉDERM®). Both products are used to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles but with a very different approach.
The neuromodulators are gently inserted into the skin to relax muscles thus minimizing the appearance of wrinkles. Dermal fillers are injected in various depths of the facial tissue to replace lost facial volume, enhancing natural contours and minimize signs of aging.
At Clarity Ace & Aesthetic Dermatology in Suffolk, we use FDA approved products for our injectable services. When the neuromodulator in Botox® is inserted into the skin, it blocks the nerve signal that causes the muscles to contract. This relaxes and softens the look of lines and wrinkles caused by the constant movements on your face. These lines are generally found between one’s eyebrows, the corners of one’s eyes, around one’s mouth, and across one’s forehead.
Dermal fillers, such as JUVÉDERM® work a little bit differently, however. The dermal fillers we utilize are hyaluronic acid based, which is a substance naturally produced by our bodies. These can be used to provide up to two years of correction for volume loss and deeper wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid does metabolize, so we do encourage regular follow ups every 9-12 months, depending on your individual needs, in order to maintain the look and fullness you desire.
Don’t worry, this service is not painful! Injectables are minimally invasive and provide you with results that you must see to believe. If you’re interested in softening those unflattering wrinkles and signs of aging, schedule a service with us today!
The main benefit of injectables is the minimal to no downtime and natural look achieved. Unlike surgery that can take several weeks or months to heal, injectables are relatively painless and show the results you want very quickly. Injectables, such as Botox or dermal fillers, also carry a low risk of infections and complications, so you can have peace of mind that your appointment will be seamless and painless from start to finish.
